By Bike around Kyushu is an account of a journey around the island of Kyushu, in Southern Japan, following the pilgrim path of 88 temples belonging to the Shingon sect of Buddhism. The travel was undertaken in 2014 using a small folding bike and the occasional train and taxi and staying, where possible, in low cost Japanese style accommodation.
